Elly care overview showing the daily diaper count

Simple change categories

Choose wet, dirty, both or dry in the diaper entry. Use the same straightforward labels across the care team.

A timestamp and useful context

Record the completed change and add a note if another caregiver needs it. An entry describes what happened, rather than a future task.

Part of the care history

Look back at diaper entries alongside other recorded care. The next adult can find the latest update without reconstructing a message thread.

A closer look

See it in Elly.

How it works
in your day.

  1. Open a diaper entry

Select the child and choose Diaper from care activities.

  2. Choose the recorded details

Select the category and add the time or useful context.

  3. Keep the next adult informed

Refer to the latest record at handoff and ask about any uncertainty directly.

An everyday example

Two adults share an afternoon

One caregiver records the completed change before leaving. The next caregiver checks the shared entry and adds later changes to the same child’s history.

Diaper tracker questions

The details, answered.

Which diaper categories can I record?

The app offers Wet, Dirty, Both and Dry.

Is this a medical assessment?

No. The log records observations; it does not diagnose conditions or define a normal frequency for your child.

Can I start with a paper log?

Yes. Our free printable diaper log is linked below, so your care team can try a shared recording habit before choosing an app.

Can parents and a nanny contribute to the same diaper history?

Adults with the relevant family and child access can record care in the shared workspace. Agree who will log each change so one event is not entered twice.

Where can I find the day’s diaper count?

The home overview includes a diaper total alongside feeding and sleep. It reflects recorded entries, so a change that nobody logged will not be represented.

Should I create a task or log a diaper change?

Use a care entry after the change happened. A task is useful for work still to do, such as restocking supplies, but it does not record a completed diaper change.
