Elly calendar with a caregiver shift, a library visit and family tasks

Day, week and month views

Look closely at today or step back to see the week and month. Events can include times, places and practical details.

Caregiver shifts with a response

A staffed care window is a shift, with an assigned caregiver and a response. A proposed arrangement is not the same as accepted coverage.

Repeating arrangements

Use repeating events for recurring commitments. Keep the details connected to the arrangement instead of copying them into a new conversation each week.

How it works
in your day.

  1. Create an event or shift

Choose whether you are planning an activity or a care window.

  2. Add the people and details

Include the relevant child, time, place and participants.

  3. Review the arrangement

Check assignment responses where required and communicate changes to the people affected.

An everyday example

A library visit during a nanny shift

The shift shows the care window, while the library event holds the outing details. Parents and the caregiver can understand both the coverage and what is planned during it.

Family calendar questions

The details, answered.

Does the calendar have a weekly view?

Yes. Elly includes day, week and month views.

Does assigning a shift mean the caregiver accepted?

No. Shift assignments require the caregiver’s response. Review the status and discuss changes directly.

Are shared assignments included without a subscription?

Shared assignments and caregiver shifts are subject to Elly Plus access. Check the current plan details in the app before relying on a particular feature.

Can I add a place and child to an event?

Yes. An event can hold its time, location, participants and relevant children. Put outing details in the event so the adults involved can find them again.

Can recurring activities stay in the calendar?

The calendar supports repeating arrangements, including daily, weekly and monthly options. Review the recurrence when creating the plan so it matches the actual commitment.

How should we handle a pickup change?

Discuss the new arrangement with the adult taking responsibility, then update the calendar details. Check the relevant response rather than assuming that changing the event alone confirms coverage.
