How to export baby care records from Elly

Open insights for the records you need

Start with the child and category you want to review. Elly’s insights includes categories such as Sleep, Feeding and Diaper. The export uses the filtered records, so selecting Sleep should not be described as exporting every category of care. If you use the All children view, check whether a family-wide report is appropriate for the intended recipient. When you only need one child’s entries, select that child first. Review the heading and displayed data before opening the export menu.

Set the date range

Use the date-range controls to choose today, seven days, thirty days or a custom period as appropriate. Look through the summary and available entries to make sure the selected dates match your purpose. A period with few records may reflect missing logging, a different child selection or the chosen category. It is not proof that no care occurred. If the data looks unfamiliar, return to the filters and check them before generating another file. A short sample export can help you confirm the contents before preparing a longer report.

Choose PDF summary or CSV data

Open Export insights and select the format. PDF summary gives you a document to read; CSV data gives you records to open in a spreadsheet. The app generates the file and opens the device’s sharing options. Choose a destination supported on your device, such as saving a copy or sharing it with the intended recipient. This is a file export, not a live connection to another person’s calendar or spreadsheet. Later changes in Elly will not automatically rewrite a copy you already saved or sent.

Check the output before sending

Open the file and confirm the child, category and date range. Review an example entry against the app so you understand the output. CSV files can be displayed differently by spreadsheet applications, particularly for dates and times. Keep the original export if you make an annotated copy. The export screen states that photos are not included, so do not use the absence of an image in the file as evidence that an entry never had one. Send a short explanation of any known gaps alongside the report when that context matters.

An example export for a care-team conversation

Suppose a parent and nanny want to discuss the previous week’s recorded sleep. The parent selects the relevant child, Sleep and the agreed dates, then chooses PDF summary. Before sharing, they notice an afternoon without entries and add a separate note explaining that the caregiver did not log that period. If they also want to sort records in a spreadsheet, they create a CSV of the same selection. Those files serve different tasks but describe the same chosen slice of the records. Neither file establishes what happened during an unrecorded period.

If the export is unavailable or fails

Check the subscription access shown in the app and verify that you are in the intended family with the relevant records available. If export fails, read the message and try again after confirming the selection. If the problem continues, contact support with the format, date range and error description; avoid sending an entire care file unless it is needed for the support request. A successful export should open through the device’s sharing flow. This website cannot retrieve your app records, generate an app report or verify that a particular export reached another person.
